Cha Am September

Always nice to see a Cha Am sunrise

Panoramic view from the Sky Lounge

Cha Am Beach

Breakfast at Cha Am Beach

Thailand recently introduced a property tax which applies to second homes and vacant property. It doesn't not apply to agricultural land. As a result, many people who own undeveloped land have instantly become farmers. This is now a coconut plantation.

Cha Am Beach Restoration Project.

Raya Coffee - Good coffee. Nice space. Excellent view.

This Month's Bike Ride

North of Cha Am

North of Cha Am

Very slow progress on the dual rail project

Bike path under construction. When done the path will extend for 5.8K from Khao Nang Phanthurat National Park around the north end of Khao Yai and down the west side of Khao Yai

Found this old stairway near the beginning of the bike path

Short but steep it leads up to the old shrine that you can barely see in the photo above.

View from the shrine

Lots of prickly pear cactus along the trail

Spirit house at the base of the steps

This is on the west side of Khao Yai not far from the Swiss Sheep Farm

A paved section of the bike trail

Nice moth at the Condo

On the way home we stopped at this Dvaravati Chedi which dates from about 700 AD

Many ancient artifacts have been found. This explanatory poster from Rajapat University at Petchaburi.

Coffee stop on the way home at Klue Wan (sweet salt) Cafe. This area still produces significant amounts of sea salt based on the old evaporative farm method.
